The excursion to the Taka Museum with the students of the 64th batch,BBA Program, Department of Business Administration was successfully held on July 2, 2025.
The primary objective of the tour was to provide students with practical exposure to the history, development, and evolution of currency (Taka) in Bangladesh, complementing their academic studies in finance.
Our heartfelt thanks to the Honorable Dean, Professor Dr. Mohammad Sohail Mustafa and Respected Head, Professor Dr. Bahzad Noor for their kind approval and continuous support. The tour was started from the camous premise where along with Dean, FoB and Head, DBA Dr. Par Moshiur Rahman, Registrar, SMUCT were remain present. The tour was convened by Nasrin Jahan, Associate Professor, and led by M. Shaikh Imran Akand Shuvo, Assistant Professor.
Taka Museum warmly welcomed our students and arranged a wonderful short session in the auditorium, where they presented insightful information on the journey of currency, its historical significance, and key milestones. A formal vote of thanks on behalf of the department was delivered by Nasrin Jahan, Associate Professor, DBA.
Following the session, students were divided into two groups, and each group was guided by a museum official through different galleries, offering a closer look at ancient, rare, and modern currency notes and coins.
The journey began at 11:00 AM from the university campus, and we returned safely by 3:00 PM. The students thoroughly enjoyed the visit and gained valuable knowledge that broadened their perspective beyond classroom learning. The tour was both educational and enriching, making it a truly memorable experience.
