As a Faculty of Engineering & Technology, our core mission is to provide each student with the depth of knowledge and basic skills for their entire life, nurtured by opportunities to innovate, creative ideas to pursue their current passions. We are challenged and committed to providing the highest quality industry-driven curricula in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Computer Science & Engineering and Computer Science and Information Technology with further addition of more departments in future. Our programs complement emerging technologies and creativity in the student learning experience in areas such as advanced materials and manufacturing, design and planning, cyber-security, intelligent sensors, robotics, artificial intelligence, data science, and smart infrastructure.

In the rapidly changing digital world, engineers play a pivotal role in developing technologies that enable positive impact on the society and facilitate economic development. The challenges of modern society are complex and involve many fields. For example, global issues such as energy, the environment, sustainability, resources, water, food and so on are entwined and have complex aspects. Recognizing the need for developing graduates with an appreciation for global awareness, solid engineering fundamentals, and professionalism. . .we are striving to develop and promote engineering education learning with a curriculum for (OBE) outcome based assessment, and critical skills in research, design, problem solving, and communication. Our goal is to prepare students to be highly educated professionals who are ready to deal with the demands of a global and dynamic corporate environment. SMUCT programs are designed so that students are encouraged and can follow their interests and ideas to maximum potential, but also to develop lifetime learning habits. In this regard, our faculty members, with their excellent devotion to teaching, aid them to fully prepare our students for their future careers.

The Faculty of Engineering & Technology fosters a welcoming environment to encourage students learning interest.  In addition, our faculty work to increase collaboration with local and regional enterprises which benefits the entire community, while also providing a real educational experience for our students and staff. Our multiple student contests and internship also provide a diverse range of leadership and professional development opportunities. Maintaining relationship with our stakeholders – industry, government, alumni, employers, research partners – is important. We need their guide and suggestions for further improvement and advocate for us so that SMUCT Engineering remains strong.

As Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, I am very glad to work with dedicated academics, associates, and especially with enthusiastic students. Your ideas and suggestions are always welcome, and they can help SMUCT become a more advanced center for holistic education.

I look forward to continuously developing and implementing strategic initiatives to expand access for incoming students via preparation and recruitment, providing support to make it more affordable to pursue our degrees, and enhance the academic quality of our programs and student learning while supporting the roadmap of OBE the Academic Master Plan.
