Position: Professor

Academic Qualifications:

  1. PhD degree or an equivalent, in the relevant discipline from a well reputed university, with at least 2 (two) 1st Class/Division/ Grade A of which one 1st Class/Division/ Grade A will have to be in Bachelor’s or Master`s degree.
  2. MPhil degree or an equivalent, in the relevant discipline from a well reputed university, with at least 2 (two) 1st Class/Division/ Grade A of which one 1st Class/Division/ Grade A will have to be in Bachelor’s or Master`s degree.
  3. Bachelor’s (honors) degree of 4 (four) years and Master’s degree/3 (three) years Honors and Master’s degree in the relevant discipline from a well reputed university, with at least 3 (three) 1st Division/Class/ Grade A.

Experience Requirements:

  1. For (1), minimum 12 years of teaching experience at the university or equivalent level of which at least 5 years has to be as Associate The candidates must have at least 15 articles published in recognized journals of which 7 have to be published as Associate Professor. 
  2. For (2), minimum 18 years of teaching experience at the university level of which at least 6 years as Associate The candidates must have at least 15 articles published in recognized journals of which 7 have to be published as Associate Professor.
  3. For (3), minimum 20 years of teaching experience at the university level of which at least 7 years as Associate The candidates must have at least 15 articles published in recognized journals of which 7 have to be published as Associate Professor.

Note: Third Class/Division/C grade at any stage of educational level and pass course will not be accepted.

Position: Head of Operations

Job description/Responsibilities:

  • To administer, supervise, control, and monitor the activities of Officers and Staff of the Department of Establishment, Electro-mechanical Engineering, Purchase & Procurement, Inventory and Store, IT, Maintenance, other support services and Safety & Security.
  • To ensure logistic support for holding meetings of Board of Trustees, Syndicate, Academic Council and arrange venue/refreshments/food etc. for convocation and other events of the university.
  • To ensure and monitor the arrangement of hygienic/pure drinking water, hygienic food quality with clean canteen facilities, clean lavatories for students/staff of the university.
  • To support all departments for holding academic activities along with seminars, symposiums, conferences, meetings, etc. by providing manpower and logistic service as required.
  • To supervise and optimize the best use of transportation fleet of the University.
  • To assist the Registrar.
  • To supervise and follow up all legal matters related to SMUCT’s land and properties.
  • To plan, supervise and review time to time appropriate development of security personnel and access control equipment and recommend the top management appropriate measures and policies as required.
  • To organize fire drills and evacuation exercises for all at regular intervals.
  • To supervise the Medical and Counseling Office (Mental Health support) office for all.
  • To plan, organize, and manage a variety of activities and projects related to the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment.
  • To effectively allocate resources including office stationaries.
  • To manage construction contracts for new facilities and major alterations and/or modernization of existing facilities for the purpose of ensuring that the work is performed in accordance with specifications, timelines, and approved budget.
  • To liaise with various government, semi-government, autonomous and municipal bodies for obtaining necessary clearance/permission for the approval and implementation of the development works.
  • To develop and monitor departmental budget, expenditures allocations, fund balances, and related financial data for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, revenues are recorded, expenses are within budget limits, and expenditures are authorized in accordance with SMUCT policies.
  • To respond to emergencies for the purpose of determining and implementing appropriate actions required to resolve situations.
  • To report, inform and liaise with the Registrar to keep always updated with required information.
  • To carry out any other activities as assigned by the Registrar/Vice Chancellor.

Academic Qualification, Experience and Other Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in any discipline from reputable university. Preference will be given to candidates with MBA degree.
  • 12 years of experience of which 5 years as a head of operations or in a similar role.
  • Age maximum 50 years
  • Excellent organizational and leadership qualities.
  • A strategic thinker.
  • Excellent IT skills.

Position: Deputy Registrar (Admin)

Job description/Responsibilities:

  • Arrangement of meetings of the Academic Council, Syndicate and different committees of the university, preparation and distribution of workings papers of the meetings, writing minutes of the meetings, distribution of extracts of the minutes, follow-up for implementation of the decisions of the meetings.
  • Assist the Registrar in the management of establishment matters, legal matters, Campus/estate management, statutory compliances and meetings, materials management, the maintenance of administrative databases, and the supervision of all staff and student workers.
  • Preparing the university’s Brochure/Catalog, Handbook, newsletter, Annual report etc..
  • Correspond and maintain liaison with University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, Ministry of Education and other regulatory or affiliated or collaborative bodies or authorities.
  • Ensure the meaningful usages and activities of classrooms, labs, library, student career and development center, canteen, auditorium, international collaboration, and participation on different local and international seminars, symposiums, workshops, training program, international events etc.
  • Coordination of the university convocation.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and organizes office operations and procedures.
  • Help in preparing documents of various statutory bodies.
  • Oversee responses to queries from students, staff and external organizations.
  • Perform such other duties as may be specified by the authorities from time to time.

Academic Qualifications, Experience and Other Requirements:

  • Master’s or equivalent degree from any discipline from a reputed university. Preference will be given to candidates with MBA degree.
  • 10 years of experience of which 3 years in similar role/5 years as Assistant Registrar preferably in a reputed public or private university.
  • Age maximum 45 years
  • Sound and in-depth knowledge in the Private University Act 2010.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, presentation and written communications skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

BUREAU 555’s initial services will include

  • Material digitisation: Capturing visual and physical data

We have identified that the current fabric digitisation offerings in the market lack robust physical fabric data. By combining our technical fabric knowledge and 3D software expertise, we will provide a transformational material digitisation service and 3D sampling solution delivered via teams in London and Dhaka.

Digital Product Developer

Duties will include:

  • Evaluate and identify fabrics from customers
  • Ensure physical and 3D products meet set requirements and specifications 
  • Check products for suitability and testing for performance under various conditions
  • Manage approvals, testing, sign offs and performance of scanned fabrics
  • Control 3D quality standards by using our in-house software & hardware
  • Maintain both physical and 3D fabric library
  • Keep up-to-date with textile trends and innovations

Required Experience:

  • 1-2 years’ experience as Fabric technologist.
  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign, Figma and Textronic.
  • Has a deep understanding of knit and woven fabrics.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery and other front-end markup languages will be a bonus.
