The Master of Music programme at the Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology is designed for students of music who want to gain advanced skills and knowledge in indigenous musical genres of Bengal, namely, the Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet and Classical. Graduates gain the knowledge and skills that enable them to contribute to the music profession.

It is an ideal programme for aspiring musicians seeking to enhance their creative and intellectual focus on the three Bengal music genres. Incorporating contemporary theory and practice, the programme offers the option to major in one of those three areas, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet and Classical. All students will be required to produce a thesis in their final semester.

The programme is offered in 1 year or 2 years track. Students with bachelor degree in discipline other than music will be required to complete the 2 year track for a Master of Music degree.
