Readymade garments are the prime export oriented product in our country and efficient production planning for garment industry is very important to compete in the world market. Considering these issues, students of 7th semester of the Department of Apparel Manufacturing Management & Technology(AMMT) has visited a factory named Envoy Textiles Limited (ETL) which is a high quality denim fabric manufacturer in Bangladesh located at Bhaluka, Mymensingh. Introducing rope dyeing denim for the first time in the country, ETL has been designed with a combination of superior man, machinery and management. The project is a 100 percent export-oriented unit consisting of the state-of-the-art machineries from world’s best sources including USA, Japan, Korea, Italy, India etc.
For a thorough understanding of the process which begins from fabric and ends up with a finished garment like woven shirt, pant etc. On 27th June students along with their course teachers Reashad Bin Kabir , Noorul Muqaddim , and Suhal Ahmed explored the place.
After visiting the factory, all the students were gathered in the theater-conference room where director of this factory shared his professional experience of this industry towards the students. He also arranged lunch for the students as a refreshment.
The visit was successful in terms of the information and experience gathered on the process of manufacturing, work environment, physical facilities, program and management of a large and busy textile factory. It was a very memorable, instructive and enjoyable day for the students.
