Webinar on “The Challenges of Bangladeshi RMG industries during Covid-19 Pandemic

As part of academic activities, Department of Apparel Manufacturing Management & Technology (AMMT) has arranged a Webinar on 22nd August, 2021. Around 220 students were participated in the session to acquire the depth idea regarding sourcing & negotiation techniques of Bangladeshi RMG sector. The virtual program held on Zoom platform and posted in departmental official Facebook page.

Several distinguish guests were presented in the webinar;  Arch. Hosne Ara Rahman, Advisor, Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology was The chief guest; Mr. Kaikobad Rana, Joint Register (Academic)  was the special guest ; Farjana Mita , Assistant Professor & Coordinator, Department of AMMT was the chairperson of the webinar and Mr. Asad Hossain (Fabric Sourcing & Developer, Next Sourcing Servicing Ltd ) was the key note speaker. Arch. Hosne Ara Rahman mentioned that AMMT department was driven by a number of qualified faculty members who are given proper guidance of the students. In addition to this, Mr. Kaikobad Rana said, the webinar will be very helpful for the students and he expects that this type of webinar will continue as the regular part of academic activities. Dr. Masud Al Noor (Head of the Department BBA, Joint Registrar Administration) given a inspirational speech. Besides this, Farjana Mita delivered her welcome speech by advising students to keep state of the art knowledge about the latest innovation of Textile & Apparel Industry.

Key note speaker Mr. Asad Hossain has presented an outstanding session about fabric sourcing & negotiation techniques. He elaborated about supply chain management, fabric & garments testing, Lab dip test, and so on. He also discussed about the challenges of Bangladeshi garments during Covid-19 situations. He wraps up his session by focusing on career development, communication skills.

This program was moderated by Engr. Reashad Bin Kabir, (Assistant Professor, Dept. of AMMT).  All faculty members of this department as well as others department faculty members were presented this program This virtual program ended with vote of thanks from Mr. RajIb Das (Lecturer, Dept. of AMMT) however, before that a question- answer session was there , where a few students asked their queries to the keynote speaker about current situation of RMG, and future aspects of this sector.
