I welcome everybody. This is Afroza Haq Daizy, HoD, Department of Fashion Design & Technology, Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology. Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology is the first design based University in this region to expedite the design education of Bangladesh. Renowned philanthropist and veteran freedom fighter Mr. Imamul Kabir Shanto has extended his great effort and noble desire for the design education in Bangladesh from the private sector. However, Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology has started its harmonious journey from 2003 and has created many graduates from different disciplines of design. However, it has already made a positive impact in the job sectors to flourish the country’s largest Ready-Made Garment industry. Most of our graduated students are working in the different national and multinational companies in the country successfully whereas some of them are outside of the country for their higher education. Our students are being awarded from home and abroad for their creativity. Our sixth batch’s student Sejan Mahmud Linkon has designed the Jersey of Bangladesh National Cricket Team. In 2012, our six students were awarded the prestigious Asia Star Award (Asian Packaging). However, Last year three students have won the impressive award ‘Fashion Students Denim Competition, moreover two students have awarded the same in this year. Besides, our students have won Robi Jamdani Jadukar in 2013. We have many well experienced faculty members, who have taken their higher degrees from the renowned Universities at home and abroad. Faculties are keeping keen eyes on their students to enhance their academic excellence
