Department of Law

The Department of Law at Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology strives to make the next generation of Bangladesh’s most influential Lawyers, Judges, Scholars and Activists. It is a gateway through which the students are prepared for careers in law, in administrative services, the judiciary and also in the development sector which will eventually lead to the economic growth of the country. (The 8th point of SDGs: Decent Work and Economic Growth)

The department has currently two programs, namely, Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Honors) and Master of Laws (LL.M.). The faculties of the department are selected based on their academic excellence and individual expertise. The faculty members emphasize greatly on developing students’ ability to analyze laws, develop the way of arguing logically and also learn, de-learn and relearn independently.

Students are trained to think critically about the Justice System and it’s potential areas for reformation. By acquiring the legal knowledge, students get to learn about their individual rights, interests and obligations. It ensures to achieve the gender equality. (The 5th point of SDGs: Gender Equality). Overall, the department of Law is highly focused on providing quality education for sustainable development. (The 4th point of SDGs: Quality Education)
