The Department of Government & Politics started as an independent department of the Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology in 2003.The department offers only postgraduate programme. The major study areas of the department are Bangladesh Politics, International Relations, Political Thoughts in East and West, Politics in the Middle East and East Asia, Public Administration and Governance Studies. We continuously strive to ensure that the academic curriculum is updated enough to address the recent national and international issues concerned. Our faculty members are keen to help the students and offer opportunities to them to consult on diversified issues.

The academic programme is designed to equip students for career success. Many of the former students of the department are now placed in prominent positions in administration, government jobs, educational institutions, press and electronic media.
